Art Classes for Ages (8 - 10) — Sunday 10:00 - 11:45 am

Please note that for these ages the groups are very small. We only take 6 students per group as they require much more attention from the teacher than groups for older ages. Students work both from observation and imagination learning classical concepts and techniques of painting and drawing. Materials may include pencil, markers, pastels, acrylic paints and pen and ink. This is the age when they are starting to transition from flat depiction of objects to more dimensional work. Perspective, tone, design elements, color harmony and volume will be explored. At Bridgeview we also introduce kids to art history as they make creatively and artistically interpret famous works by Old Masters such as Van Gogh, Monet, Greek and Egyptian Art and many other great artistic schools and traditions. Students draw and paint still life setups and also copy from the Old Masters. Sculpting and working in clay is also part of this program. Kids may draw and sculpt people and animals.

Come join our Baby & Me program! This is a welcoming, nurturing space for caregivers and babies ages 0–18 months to bond, play, and grow together. This program will include a story and various songs and rhymes to aid in early childhood development and literacy. The program includes gentle songs, rhymes, stories, and sensory play designed to support early development. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other families and build early literacy skills from the very beginning.

Toddler Time

Join us for fun stories, songs, and rhymes for toddlers ages 13-35 months! Full and active participation of accompanying caregivers is encouraged. Due to high demand, we require that patrons register for only one Hunters Point Toddler Time each week (either one Monday session or one Wednesday session). Registration is open the day before each session only. Each child attending needs to be registered; adults do not. Doors close at 11:25am - see you there!
