Rock Write Record is BMF's band program for students ages 9–17 who are ready to move beyond the basics and experience what it's like to be part of a real band. Students collaborate with bandmates to learn cover songs, write original music, develop their performance skills, and experience the excitement of creating music together. Led by an experienced Brooklyn Music Factory teacher, each rehearsal focuses on songwriting, arranging, musicianship, and playing as an ensemble. Students strengthen their creativity, musical fluency, and confidence while developing the communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills that make great bands successful. Bands are thoughtfully formed based on each student's age, instrument, and skill level , creating a supportive environment where every musician is challenged, contributes to the group, and grows alongside peers at a similar stage in their musical journey. Throughout the year, bands perform on the BMF stage, giving students the opportunity to share both original songs and cover songs with family, friends, and the BMF community. As students grow, they're encouraged to take greater ownership of the creative process, helping shape their band's unique sound while building skills that last a lifetime. Creative Movement 3/Modern 1 Primary Division An introduction to dance and theater through creative movement. ChristinaNoel’s teaching process is to first focus on the children’s imaginations by employing exercises in creativity. Students are given the opportunity to sing, stretch, and increase self-confidence while being introduced to basic ballet and modern dance concepts. At Logicus, our first-grade Conceptual Analytical Mathematics (CAM) curriculum exposes students to foundational mathematical concepts inspired by the best practices of Singapore and Russian Math curriculums: Specific Topics Covered: Introduction to Algebraic Equations: Students will be introduced to the concept of balance and equality, forming the foundation for equation solving and algebra. They will start by interpreting and creating number sentences using the equal sign correctly. For instance, understanding that in a correct equation, the amount on one side of the equal sign must be the same as the amount on the other side. Process Skills in Problem Solving : Students will develop competency in thinking skills and problem solving heuristics through meaningful and challenging activities such as Make a Systematic List, Visualization, Before-After Concept, Guess and Check, Replacement Concept, Look For A Pattern (Numbers and Shapes), Draw a Diagram. Expanded Addition and Subtraction : We'll cover adding and subtracting numbers using visualization and mental arithmetic techniques inspired by Singapore Math and Russian Math's focus on a deep comprehension of mathematical operations such as Part-Whole Model Diagram, More/Less Than Concept, Before/After Concept, Difference Concept, Internal Transfer Concept.
