AFTER SCHOOL CLUB - Adventures in Imagination

Act, Move, Create, and Play… Where will your imagination take you today? In this class, children will open our magical treasure trunk and go on an improvised theatrical adventure. The props and costumes inside the trunk provide the spark that inspires a new story in each class that we will create together using our voices, bodies, and imaginations. The group will dive under the sea, fly through the sky like a superhero, or tip-toe into a secret castle…all while finding clues and working as an ensemble alongside our enthusiastic and experienced teaching artists. Looking for an engaging, convenient, safe, and creative option for your kiddo in the neighborhood with school pick up options? Seek no further, because Treasure Trunk has you covered! With options Monday through Friday, your child will be safely walked from their school (drop-off options also available, if preferred!) and welcomed into a world of imagination and dramatic play, led by our talented teaching artists who are both theatrical and childcare professionals. TIMING: All days run 3:00-5:00pm, with an optional extended day from 5:00-6:00pm OUTLINE OF THE DAY: Kiddos will be walked from their school to our studio, if optional school pick up has been purchased. We will then have a snack time followed by quiet coloring and homework help (if needed). Students will then dive into their focus for the day with our specialized and engaging theatrical class. From crafting their very own props and costume pieces in our Monday class, to learning beloved musical theater songs on Tuesdays, to bringing storybooks to life on Wednesdays, to creating their very own mini musical on Thursdays, to improvising new adventures each week on Fridays - there is something for every kiddo here at Treasure Trunk. With every curriculum and focus, our program fosters a love of self expression, connectivity and confidence. Whether your child is running for center stage or is a little bit shy in the spotlight, our teaching artists create an individualized approach for engaging every kiddo in a unique and authentic way. NOTE ON PICK UPS: Pick up is only available for students registering for the full session. For instance, you must be signed up for ALL or ALL REMAINING Monday classes (or any other day) to be eligible for pick up. Drop ins are not eligible for school pick up. You DO NOT need to be registered for all days Mon through Fri to receive pick up. Once registered, you will be contacted with forms to fill out regarding your child's pick up details. BGL’s After School sessions are held every weekday during the school year at both of our locations: South Slope (479 7th Ave) - Perfect for D&D fans, plus gamers of all passions! Center Slope (310 7th Ave) - An amazing sampling of all our best games! After School attendees get the opportunity to play everything we offer! Each child samples a variety of our best games at the start of the year, then tells us their favorites. From that point onward, we offer two to three activities at each location per day, sorting each player into their most preferred game. Activities include: Dungeons & Dragons Board Games Outdoor Games (including Battle Lab!) Design Your Own Game And MORE! Become an Immortal & play the Immortal Games! After School kids get the opportunity to participate in one of BGL’s most unique and exciting offerings: the Immortal Games! Attendees earn daily merits for their behavior, designs, and achievements. When they earn enough merits, they level up and join one of our five Immortal Houses, teams with distinct characteristics that foster collaboration and companionship. The five Houses compete every year in our Immortal Games! This special experience combines strategy and storytelling, and kids shape the narrative via the choices they make. With hundreds of players and thousands of moves each year, it’s one of the world’s biggest games. SCHEDULE AND PICKUP This after school program meets at our South Slope location, 479 7th Ave @ Windsor Pl , once a week, from 3:30 – 6:00 pm, with an option for extended day. We offer school pick up at select schools at school dismissal. Register for school pick up with your after school program registration. School pickup available from: PS 10, PS 107, PS 130, PS 154, PS 230, PS 295, Berkeley Carroll, St Joseph the Worker, and BSI*. (*We do not pick up at BSI but will work with you to coordinate pick up at the private or regular bus stop. Add-ons: School pickup: $15 per session Extended day until 6:30 pm: $20 per session Our after school programs are not held on days when public school is closed, including for inclement weather. These closures are factored into the program fee. COST The first installment is charged upon registration; subsequent installments are charged on the 1st of the upcoming months. The last charge is on the first of the last month of the semester. If you register after the start of the school year, your fee is prorated. Discounts available: Enrolling multiple days or siblings? Get 5% off all enrollments if you book more than one! Make sure you include all sessions in the same cart to receive this discount. If you need to change your day, location or program during the school year, just let us know! We accommodate changes at no charge, as long as there is availability. If you know your child will be absent for registered sessions, let us know. We can schedule "advance make ups" as well as make ups after the absence. Cancellation of enrollment before the end of the semester may result in an early termination fee of $20 per month enrolled.
