Calling all curious kids! In this exciting STEAM class for young makers and thinkers, we’ll mix up science experiments, building challenges, and tons of hands-on fun. From bubbling reactions and fizzy chemistry to bridges that hold weight and boats that really float, each week brings a new adventure in science and engineering. Students will explore materials like wood, LEGO, cardboard, and everyday items as they build, test, and tweak their creations. With fun take-home projects each week, kids will explore big ideas in science and design—while developing creativity, confidence, and problem-solving skills along the way. Explore the world of movement, mechanics, and electricity in this hands-on class that combines circuits with classic engineering! Students will discover how simple machines and electrical systems power the world around us—from light switches to moving toys and vehicles. Each week, we’ll tackle fun builds using real components like batteries, LEDs, switches, gears, cams, and linkages. Projects include things like paper circuit art , fan-powered cars , and mechanical contraptions that really move. As they build, students will learn key science and engineering concepts such as voltage, current, positive and negative charge, mechanical advantage, and design iteration. By combining electrical and mechanical systems , this class helps students understand how things work—and gives them the confidence to invent their own! Notes Get ready to build, discover, and innovate! In this exciting hands-on program, young engineers will dive into the world of FIRST LEGO League: Explore, where creativity meets real-world science and teamwork. Students will tackle this season’s themed Explore Challenge by designing, building, and coding a LEGO model using the LEGO® Education SPIKE™ robotics set. In Explore, teams of students focus on fundamenals of engineering as they explore real world problems, and learn to design, code, and create unique solutions. The season wraps up with a celebration at a local FLL Explore Festival, where students will proudly present their models and share what they’ve learned. Perfect for curious minds and creative builders, this program builds confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills—all while having a blast with LEGO! NOTE: Please reach out to check if we will attend an Explore Festival when signing up Additional fees may incur for Explore Festivals. Local Festivals have yet to be announced, but students will practice their presentation skills and share their creations in a larger community of teams.
