About this event

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a family-friendly viewing of Coco. Interact with the action and characters by singing, dancing and more! Hot cocoa will be provided! Recommended for children in grades K-5 with a parent/caregiver. Registration is required. Please register each child individually. This program is designed for children and accompanying adults. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child for this program! Drop-offs are not permitted. Space is limited. Registration opens on Saturday, September 19.

Take and Make kits will be in the Children's Room at BOTH the Main Library AND the Fairfield Woods Branch Library. Please see below for specific details. Kits will be available when the Library opens while supplies last - first come, first served. Saturday, October 3, 2026 Castanets Craft Let's make a castanet out of recycled material in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. To do this craft, you will need your own scissors and glue stick.

Let's bounce and wiggle during this storytime with songs, rhymes and books for children 18 months up to 35 months old with their caregiver. Registration is required and is separate for each class each week. Please register each child individually. Space is limited. Registration opens at 8:00 pm on Thursday the week prior. Please only attend ONE class of each type each week since they are the same class offered multiple times. In order to provide the best learning environment for all participants, we are unable to allow access, regardless of registration, if you arrive 10 minutes after the program starts.

Art 3 is the third level of a four-year curriculum, where your Art 3 student's critical thinking skills will be put to the test! Projects are designed to challenge and inspire your child, and include five color block printing with registration, gouache painting, sketch and wash, 12 box color design, and cast paper relief sculpture. The skills your child has developed thus far will be taken to a new level! The projects add depth to your child's portfolio and are projects most young students will never get to experience before college.

Girls Who Code Club Thursdays: September 17 & 24; October 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29; November 5, 2026 • 4:00 pm Girls Who Code is an international non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology. Girls Who Code Clubs are spaces where girls can join our sisterhood of supportive peers and use computer science to change the world. Grades 3-5 Clubs help build the foundational skills and understanding of computer science concepts and sisterhood through reading discussion and coding activities. Practice new skills by completing fun and simple online coding tutorials and build community with the rest of your Club. For girls in grades 3-5. Registration is required and is for ALL 8 weeks. Participation is expected for ALL 8 weeks; please only register if you are able to attend each class date. Children attend independently. Parent or caregiver must remain in the Library during the event. Space is limited. Registration opens on Thursday, August 27. Please note that failure to cancel at least 24 hours before the event or not attending the event at all will result in a limited ability to register for future events. Please note: Each club member will also need to register on Girls Who Code HQ—their official online platform—to enroll in Fairfield Public Library’s Girls Who Code Club. Club members will receive instructions on how to do this closer to the start date.
