Wrap up Library Open House Week (September 10-19) by joining us for songs, rhymes, and favorite read-aloud books in this storytime that’s fun for young children 5 and under. Ideal for caregivers with multiple-aged children. Winnie-the-Pooh was first published in October 1926. Leading up to Pooh's 100th birthday, we will celebrate everyone's favorite "Silly Old Bear" with a bear-themed storytime! Copies of Winnie-the-Pooh, donated by Penguin Random House, will be available to program participants on a first-come, first-served basis. For children ages 0-5. Please Note: First-come, first served. Limited to 25 children plus caregiver(s). Ticket required for entry. Tickets will be available in the Children's Room starting at 10 AM. Dogs can’t read but they can be great listeners! Enjoy individual no-pressure reading time with a licensed therapy dog. Children can sign up to read approximately 15 minutes each during the R.E.A.D. session. Spots are limited and registration is required. To register please call or stop by the Webster Library in person. We ask that families sign up for only ONE session per child each month, in order to allow more children to participate. Join us for a special time to bond with your little one and meet other caregivers. We will explore the joys of books, songs, and gentle movement in addition to building early learning skills you can practice at home. Come prepared to sit with your child on your lap. Best for children who are pre-walkers (~0-18 months) and who prefer a gentle, slow-paced program. To allow as many families as possible to participate, we ask families to choose between Lapsit or Little Movers storytime each week. This event will take place in person at the Webster Library. Join us on a journey of exploration and creation. Each week we'll read a book from the collection and then jump into some crafting, based on or inspired by what we've read. Coloring, collaging, painting, drawing, sculpting, bookmark and buttonmaking, the only limit is our imagination. Things could get messy! On September 24, we'll have a special Story-Craft program in honor of Winnie-the-Pooh's upcoming 100th birthday! We will celebrate everyone's favorite "Silly Old Bear" through our read-aloud and craft activity, and copies of Winnie-the-Pooh, donated by Penguin Random House, will be available to program participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
