, While we love the spirit of the Halloween season, Green-Wood remains an active cemetery. Out of respect for the grounds, masks and costumes are not permitted and guests wearing them will not be admitted on the tour. The dead don’t keep visiting hours, but we do! Join us after dark for a walk through Green-Wood’s history, legends, and secrets. And before you depart, step inside the Catacombs, a space that is normally locked to the public. Refunds are only permissible if the tour is canceled by Green-Wood. Tickets cannot be exchanged for a different tour date. Walking tour routes cover hilly, grassy, and uneven terrain which may be difficult to navigate. This tour is not ADA compliant and is not recommended for children under the age of 10. There is no place to sit down during the tour. We strongly encourage attendees to wear suitable footwear. This tour takes place in the dark. Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring a flashlight. The tour also highlights other influential individuals who contributed to the city’s cultural, scientific, and civic life. This tour series is funded by Simons Foundation International and administered by the Simons Foundation’s Science, Society & Culture division. Bring your little ones to the most fun pop-up play zone in Sunset Park for a morning of open play and sensory exploration. Activity stations will vary for each program. Got a train enthusiast? They’ll love the Cemetery’s toy vehicles! A budding builder? Our foam mausoleum blocks are perfect for tiny architects. Junior scientists can interact with bug specimens, bird puppets, magnifying glasses, and more. Come hang out with fellow parents and caregivers while your children explore, create, and play. Don’t forget your strollers, snacks, and playful spirit! KoKo Lot at 440 19th St. (Between 8th Ave & Prospect Park West) · Greenwood Heights

In this Fort Building workshop, kids will learn about differnt types of shelters and build structures fit for humans, pets, and other creatures (big or small, real or imaginative). Inspired by the natural environment of the KoKo Lot, kids will explore and use critical thinking skills to create their structures. Found objects and other reclaimed materials will be used to build their forts. Pick-up is available from PS 130 Lower, PS 130 Upper, and PS 10. Pick-up is an optional add-on that applies to the full semester. The cost for pick-up is $136 ($17/session). Kids are picked up by a KoKo Teaching Artist at school dismissal time and escorted to the Lot. Kids have snack and playtime until the workshop begins at 3:30PM. Please note: After School Pick up will not be offered on November 3rd (Election Day, remote learning day for NYC Public Schools). Workshop Dates for Fall 2026: 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3*, 11/10, 11/17 (9 sessions total) *Note: After School Pick up will not be offered on 11/3 because it will be Election Day (remote learning day for NYC Public Schools). Dismissal Timing: For Fall 2026, we will have staggered dismissal times as sunset gets earlier.
