About this event

Decorate a mini toy house to make it as scary looking as possible! Then, bring your creation home--it will be the perfect spooky decor! All materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own favorite scary stuff to use in your design. For families with children in grades K-5. Registration is required. Please register your family under one name; one house to decorate per family. This program is designed for children and accompanying adults. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child for this program! Drop offs are not permitted. Space is limited. Registration opens on Thursday, September 17. Please note that failure to cancel at least 24 hours before the event or not attending the event at all will result in a limited ability to register for future events.

An engaging storytime for the littlest ones. Join us for songs, rhymes and books for babies and children up to 18 months old with their caregiver. This class is intended for babies and those starting to walk. Registration is required and is separate for each class each week. Please register each child individually. Space is limited. Registration opens at 8:00 pm on Monday the week prior. Please only attend ONE class of each type each week since they are the same class offered multiple times. In order to provide the best learning environment for all participants, we are unable to allow access, regardless of registration, if you arrive 10 minutes after the program starts.

Join us to learn a bit about one of the coolest creatures! Then, create a uniquely cozy aquarium home for your very own axolotl minifig!* For children in grades 1-5. Registration is required. Children attend independently. Parent or caregiver must remain in the Library during the event. Space is limited. Registration opens on Monday, August 31. Tiny Hands will encourage your child to learn new ways to create while developig a range of new skills. Tiny Hands students will learn many techniques while working with clay. They will have the opportunity to learn how to draw and paint at the easel. Many of the projects in the Tiny Hands curriculum focus on building dexterity and control, such as building a paper sculpture, which will teach students how to tear and cut. Tested by Revolution: From Retreat to Resolve Walking Tour

The American Revolution tested the resilience of Fairfielders determined to protect their homes, families, and honor. Join a walking tour that follows the lives of residents, including tavern owner Samuel Penfield, patriot Thaddeus Burr, lawyer Jonathan Sturges, and naval hero Samuel Smedley, who spoke up and fought back, and women like Mary Fish Silliman who took charge of their homes during this trying time. Discover stories of sacrifice and tales of people whose lives changed forever. Registration is required. $15 for Members; $20 for Non-Members. Rain Date: September 26 at 10:30 am Program Details: This program will meet at the Fairfield Museum Pre-registration is required—no drop-ins will be allowed. No physical ticket will be mailed. Check in using your name. Tour is approximately 90 minutes long and will start promptly. This program is recommended for adults and kids ages 14 and up. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. We will be standing and walking for extended periods. No refunds will be given unless the program is cancelled by the Fairfield Museum.
