Welcome to our Robotics class for young innovators aged 5-6 at The Renaissance Child! We are excited to offer a course that introduces the fascinating world of robotics in a way that is just right for young learners. In this beginner-friendly environment, students engage in hands-on activities and use simple, kid-friendly technology to discover how robots work. Our curriculum is designed to boost problem-solving abilities and encourage teamwork, fostering a supportive and fun atmosphere for learning. Key Highlights of Our Robotics Course: Understanding Robotics : Learn the basics of how robots operate and move. Hands-On Learning : Engage with actual robots and robotics kits to see theories in action. Programming Basics : Take the first steps in programming, guiding robots through simple tasks. Teamwork : Collaborate on projects, enhancing communication and cooperative skills. STEM Enrichment : Increase interest and competence in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math fields. This course aims to spark curiosity and build a strong foundation in robotics for our youngest learners, preparing them for a future filled with technological exploration. In this class, children will explore the exciting world of robotics and coding in a hands-on, exploratory manner. This program is designed to develop students' curiosity and confidence to solve real-life problems through engaging STEAM projects. Students learn to define problems, ask questions, and design their own solutions—setting them on a path to becoming lifelong learners. Please notice: Must complete Intro to Robotics 12-week course in order to enroll for this class. Or at least 3 weeks of THE R CHILD Summer Camp *Make-ups and cancelations: For semester registrations only one make-up class per month is allowed with a 24hr cancellation notice. Late cancellation fee: If a client provides less than 24 hours notice and wishes to schedule a makeup class, 50% of the class fee will be charged and processed through their Sawyer account. *Payment Plan: For semester registrations, payments can be paid in full or split into monthly installments. Take flight with our exciting Drone Lab! In this hands-on program, students learn to program and pilot real drones using beginner-friendly coding tools. Whether starting with block-based coding or progressing to Python, students explore how drones are used in real-world missions—from search-and-rescue to high-tech delivery. We use CoDrone EDU, a classroom-ready programmable drone equipped with a front range sensor, bottom range sensor, color sensors, and more. Each session challenges students to code flight paths, solve real-world problems, and complete drone missions in —building logic, creativity, and teamwork skills in the classroom and for competitions. No experience required—just a curiosity for tech and a love for flight! *Make-ups and cancelations: For semester registrations only one make-up class per month is allowed with a 24hr cancellation notice. Intro to Robotics is an 12-weeks introductory course designed to make learning fun for kids! This course focuses on robotics, engineering, coding, physics, and math. Throughout this course, children will use LEGO pieces to construct their own robots and learn to control them using simple computer programs. Kids will actively engage in building and programming their robots, gaining practical insights into how math and science concepts apply in real life.
