In this advanced, STEAM-focused sculpture class, students will explore the exciting intersection of art, engineering, and design by creating sculptures that move, respond to touch, and even produce sound. Young artists will learn how to combine materials like wire, clay, wood, and found objects to build kinetic and interactive pieces, while discovering basic principles of mechanics, electronics, balance, and motion. Through guided projects, students will experiment with simple machines, moving parts, and sound-making elements to bring their sculptures to life. They’ll be encouraged to think like both artists and inventors—problem-solving, testing ideas, and refining their designs along the way. This class is perfect for curious, hands-on learners who love to build, explore, and see their creations come alive through movement and interaction.
