About this event

Explore, play, and grow together! Literacy Play Lab is a hands-on early learning program designed for young children and their caregivers. This event features engaging materials such as books, toys, sensory activities, puzzles, games, and other interactive learning tools that help build early literacy skills. Children will develop language, vocabulary, fine motor skills, creativity, and social-emotional skills while caregivers discover fun, simple ways to support early literacy development in their kiddos. Come play, explore, and build a love of reading! For children 18 months up to 5 years old with their caregiver. Registration is required and is separate for each class each week. Please register each child individually. Space is limited. Registration opens at 8:00 pm on Wednesday the week prior. Please only attend ONE class of each type each week since they are the same class offered multiple times. In order to provide the best learning environment for all participants, we are unable to allow access, regardless of registration, if you arrive 10 minutes after the program starts.

A ruler and hole punch are optional.

An engaging storytime for the littlest ones. Join us for songs, rhymes and books for babies and children up to 18 months old with their caregiver. This class is intended for babies and those starting to walk. Registration is required and is separate for each class each week. Please register each child individually. Space is limited. Join us at the Library for a hands-on STEAM Challenge in which we will design and test our own parachutes. Using everyday materials, you will create a small parachute and see how it slows a falling object. Let's discover how science, engineering, and creativity work together in an experiment that is both fun and fascinating! For children in grades K-5. Registration is required. Children attend independently. Parent or caregiver must remain in the Library during the event. Space is limited. Registration opens on Tuesday, August 25. Please note that failure to cancel at least 24 hours before the event or not attending the event at all will result in a limited ability to register for future events.

Tiny Hands will encourage your child to learn new ways to create while developig a range of new skills. Tiny Hands students will learn many techniques while working with clay. They will have the opportunity to learn how to draw and paint at the easel.
