About this event

Children explore fallen leaves, seeds and samaras. Activities may include investigating why samaras spin and fly and acorns fall, sorting leaves by color, shape and size, observing leaf veins, matching leaves, and extracting natural plant colors using warm water to dye small fabric samples. If time allows, children create small playdough critters or “fossil prints”. Science concepts: gravity, air resistance, plant pigments, classification and observation. For ages 3-5
