Prepare your little one for their next big step into the classroom with Toddler Time at the Trunk - A Pint-Sized Pre-Preschool Experience! This program, led by our experienced and nurturing teaching artists, will begin to gently expose your child to a classroom environment and encourage them to cultivate independent, creative connections with their peers and teachers. Through a lens of the creative and theatrical arts, we will strengthen your little learner’s social-emotional skills and start them on a path of empathetic community-building that is so important in our world today. This class is parent/caregiver attended, and packed with fun and imaginative play! Kiddos will be welcomed into our beautiful space with a morning choice-time where they will explore storybooks, toys, a costume corner, a play-kitchen, and more. Then, we will transition into circle time, accompanied by live music while we sing some of their favorite songs. We’ll discover an art project and book inside our treasure trunk and then head off to create art, eat a snack, and listen to the story of the day. Our day will conclude with a goodbye circle and songs! We hope you will join us for a season of fun, creativity, learning and growing! Ideal for ages 14-28 months.

Bring your favorite storybooks to life in this exciting class! Each class begins with physical and vocal theatre warm ups that will get children ready for the day’s theatrical exploration. The warm-ups focus on creating characters with our bodies and voices, sparking our imaginations, and working together as an ensemble. Favorite children’s stories will then start our dramatic adventures for the class. Students will have the ability to act and speak as the characters in the story, learn the foundations of improvisation, and gain confidence standing in front of their peers. Looking for an engaging, convenient, safe, and creative option for your kiddo in the neighborhood with school pick up options? Seek no further, because Treasure Trunk has you covered! With options Monday through Friday, your child will be safely walked from their school (drop-off options also available, if preferred!) and welcomed into a world of imagination and dramatic play, led by our talented teaching artists who are both theatrical and childcare professionals. TIMING: All days run 3:00-5:00pm, with an optional extended day from 5:00-6:00pm Please Note: Students registered for Extended Day at Brooklyn Brainery will be walked to TT Prospect Heights (700 Washington Ave) for the 5-6pm portion of the day. OUTLINE OF THE DAY: Kiddos will be walked from their school to our studio, if optional school pick up has been purchased. We will then have a snack time followed by quiet coloring and homework help (if needed). Students will then dive into their focus for the day with our specialized and engaging theatrical class. From crafting their very own props and costume pieces in our Monday class, to learning beloved musical theater songs on Tuesdays, to bringing storybooks to life on Wednesdays, to creating their very own mini musical on Thursdays, to improvising new adventures each week on Fridays - there is something for every kiddo here at Treasure Trunk. With every curriculum and focus, our program fosters a love of self expression, connectivity and confidence. Whether your child is running for center stage or is a little bit shy in the spotlight, our teaching artists create an individualized approach for engaging every kiddo in a unique and authentic way. NOTE ON PICK UPS: Pick up is only available for students registering for the full session. For instance, you must be signed up for ALL or ALL REMAINING Monday classes (or any other day) to be eligible for pick up. Drop ins are not eligible for school pick up. You DO NOT need to be registered for all days Mon through Fri to receive pick up. Once registered, you will be contacted with forms to fill out regarding your child's pick up details. To arrange a pick up, your child must be registered at least one week in advance. Please let us know if you have any questions at all!
