In Ballet II classes, students build on the foundation they established in Ballet I. Focus continues on building strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and body awareness, but now students begin to learn more intricate steps and gain greater knowledge of the epaulement and lines that define the art form. Students should have 1+ prior years of dance training, but placement is at the discretion of the studio and will be based on age and ability. Students taking Ballet II are required to take 2 dance classes per week in order to keep pace with the progress of the class and be ready to begin pointe work in Ballet III. Taking 2 ballet classes/week is strongly recommended, but Jazz and Contemporary Modern classes are eligible electives.
