About this event

Meet Bucky! 🐾📚 We’re excited to welcome Bucky, our new therapy dog, to the Kent Public Library! Children ages 5–11 can build confidence, practice reading skills, and simply enjoy the calming experience of reading aloud to a therapy dog. Bucky is a wonderful listener—and he never interrupts or judges! Paws to Read offers 15-minute individual reading sessions by appointment only. Registration is required. 📞 Call the Library at 845-225-8585 for any issues with your registration and for any last-minute cancelations. We love to give children an opportunity to spend time reading to Bucky. To give as many children as possible the opportunity to participate, each child may sign up for one 15-minute time slot per hour. Registration is required for each individual session.

This hands on class for caregivers and their children will answer age old questions like... how does one make slime? Is Cloud dough sticky? We will read books, discover and learn through experience. This program is designed for children ages 2-5 years. This program runs for 4 consecutive weeks. Dress for Mess, Excess and Success! Priority Registration is given to Kent Residents. Please have a valid library card and/or number to register. All registrants will be placed on a Wait List and will be admitted as space allows and at the discretion of library staff.
