Princess in Black Book Club and Party

Eastchester Public Library · Eastchester

Join us for a Princess in Black book club and party hosted by EMS students and Girl Scouts Emma Kasper, Jules Maban and Ynes Chin. Princess in Black is about a princess who doesn’t just sit on her throne and wait for other people to solve problems in her kingdom. Yes she is a princess but she’s also a superhero who dresses in black. After discussing the book and having the participants select affirmations (ex. I can be brave, I can solve difficult problems, I can ask for help), Copies available to check out in the library. Participants will decorate masks and have a special nut free treat. Grades 1+

PreK Drop-in Art

Eastchester Public Library · Eastchester

Join us for a simple and cute art project! No registration required. Ages 2+ Art is more than scribbles and glitter. It encourages critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making -- all of which are important skills that we can foster from a very young age. When creating art with toddlers, it's important to remember that the attention span at this age is very short, under 10 minutes! Keep the experience short and fun! Follow their lead and let them decide where things should go and what colors to choose. Arts and crafts are often one of the earliest ways children can make decisions for themselves. There is no right or wrong!
