Learn how to program in Scratch, online coding platform developed by MIT. No typing skills necessary. Our Scratch curriculum is designed to motivate through example rather than through drills. Kids will gain the confidence to explore the vast Scratch platform on their own by the end of the semester. Age ranges are approximate. If you are unsure which class would be best for your child, please feel free to reach out to us at info@penguincodingschool.com and we would be happy to help. *Note the Sawyer booking fee is only applied once at check out, it is not charged each month Schedule The academic year runs from Monday 9/14/26-Friday 6/25/27. There are a total of 36 class sessions for each day of the week during the year. Classes run once a week. Students can take back to back classes to extend their time. There is no class on the following dates: Thanksgiving Break - Mon 11/23-Sun 11/29 Winter Break - Mon 12/21-Fri 1/1 February Break - Sat 2/13-Fri 2/19 Spring Break (MA only) - Sat 4/17-Fri 4/23 Spring Break (Brooklyn only) - Sat 4/24-Fri 4/30 All other dates we will hold class during the academic year Payment Payment is monthly and is evenly distributed over 10 months, for a total of 36 classes during the year. 1 hour classes are $195 per month and 1.5 hour classes are $270 per month Payment will be charged automatically on the first of each month Cancellation You can stop classes at any time, but we require at least 30 days notice in order to stop the monthly payment i.e. if you want to cancel starting in November you would need to let us know by October 1st for us to cancel the recurring payments If you need to switch times during the year, let us know at info@penguincodingschool.com and we can work out another time Levels We will move classes up to the appropriate level during the year i.e. if a student begins in Beginner Python after a few months when the class is ready we will move them up to Intermediate Python without you needing to switch days or times. After School Pick Up (Brooklyn only) We offer pick up from the following schools for our 3:00pm Cobble Hill classes and 3:30 pm Park Slope classes Park Slope: PS 10, 107, and 321 Upper School Cobble Hill: PS 29, 32, 38, 58, and 261 We pick up at dismissal time and walk the kids back to Penguin where they have time to eat a snack, if they have one, and have structured free time before class begins at 3:30 Pick up is $50 per month. Pick up fees will be charged to the card on file on the first of the month each month We are only able to pick up from a limited number of schools each day due to our small staff, please email info@penguincodingschool.com to inquire about availability and register for pick up

We invite you and your child to join our energetic and engaging teaching artists to dance, sing and travel to exciting new places on an action-packed, magical, musical adventure! Each week, we open the magical treasure trunk and focus on a new theme that will spark our journey and songs for the day. Led by live accompaniment, we will row our boats down the stream, twinkle like a little star, visit Old MacDonald's farm, and more. Prepare your little one for their next big step into the classroom with Toddler Time at the Trunk - A Pint-Sized Pre-Preschool Experience! This program, led by our experienced and nurturing teaching artists, will begin to gently expose your child to a classroom environment and encourage them to cultivate independent, creative connections with their peers and teachers. Through a lens of the creative and theatrical arts, we will strengthen your little learner’s social-emotional skills and start them on a path of empathetic community-building that is so important in our world today. This class is parent/caregiver attended, and packed with fun and imaginative play! Kiddos will be welcomed into our beautiful space with a morning choice-time where they will explore storybooks, toys, a costume corner, a play-kitchen, and more. Then, we will transition into circle time, accompanied by live music while we sing some of their favorite songs. We’ll discover an art project and book inside our treasure trunk and then head off to create art, eat a snack, and listen to the story of the day. Our day will conclude with a goodbye circle and songs! We hope you will join us for a season of fun, creativity, learning and growing! Ideal for ages 14-28 months.

Bring out your child's inner costume designer, prop master, or scenic artist in this exciting class for creative kiddos! Students will take inspiration from beloved storybooks to create sets, props, and costumes, which they will incorporate into an end of semester performance! Looking for an engaging, convenient, safe, and creative option for your kiddo in the neighborhood with school pick up options? Seek no further, because Treasure Trunk has you covered! With options Monday through Friday, your child will be safely walked from their school (drop-off options also available, if preferred!) and welcomed into a world of imagination and dramatic play, led by our talented teaching artists who are both theatrical and childcare professionals. TIMING: All days run 3:00-5:00pm, with an optional extended day from 5:00-6:00pm Please Note: Students registered for Extended Day at Brooklyn Brainery will be walked to TT Prospect Heights (700 Washington Ave) for the 5-6pm portion of the day. OUTLINE OF THE DAY: Kiddos will be walked from their school to our studio, if optional school pick up has been purchased. We will then have a snack time followed by quiet coloring and homework help (if needed). Students will then dive into their focus for the day with our specialized and engaging theatrical class. From crafting their very own props and costume pieces in our Monday class, to learning beloved musical theater songs on Tuesdays, to bringing storybooks to life on Wednesdays, to creating their very own mini musical on Thursdays, to improvising new adventures each week on Fridays - there is something for every kiddo here at Treasure Trunk. With every curriculum and focus, our program fosters a love of self expression, connectivity and confidence. Whether your child is running for center stage or is a little bit shy in the spotlight, our teaching artists create an individualized approach for engaging every kiddo in a unique and authentic way. NOTE ON PICK UPS: Pick up is only available for students registering for the full session. For instance, you must be signed up for ALL or ALL REMAINING Monday classes (or any other day) to be eligible for pick up. Drop ins are not eligible for school pick up. You DO NOT need to be registered for all days Mon through Fri to receive pick up. Once registered, you will be contacted with forms to fill out regarding your child's pick up details.
