About this event

Sensory Storytime for children ages 2 thru 6 accompanied by a caregiver. Sensory Storytimes are more interactive and provide built-in time for sensory play, including freedom of movement with more visual aids, gentle action, and sensory experiences. These storytimes are also smaller, reducing the group size and noise level for those with sound sensitivity. This program is inclusive, with interactive opportunities, more playtime, and flexible, joy-filled appreciation of children of all abilities. This event is held in our beautiful Sensory Room, which is located on the lower level of the lobby. Unfortunately, there is no elevator access. Program leader Evelyn Carmichael, a retired special education teacher with a master’s degree in learning disabilities, has curated this storytime and activity program to create an inclusive environment of joy and dignity at Pound Ridge Library. Registration is not required for this program.
