Musical Theatre Level 2

Training Zone · Gramercy Park

Does your child love to perform? Are they actively auditioning and performing in school shows, community theatre and have a genuine interest in musical theatre? Maybe they already have their sites set on a life in the theatre. Would they like to improve their auditioning skills and develop memorable characters? This is the class for them. With the guidance of our owner and Broadway Pro, Jeffrey Schecter, students will be challenged to take their musical theatre talent to the next level. With a continued focus on the 3 major elements of musical theatre, singing, dancing and acting, Students will learn how to break down and interpret a song, understand what the song is about and begin to understand telling a story through song. They will also learn to break down scenes, develop original characters and may even participate in writing and creating their own monologues and/or scenes. They will also participate in theater games, improvisation and confidence building to deal with the nerves of being in the spotlight. The semester ends with a fun performance for family and friends. PLEASE NOTE: This class is for students that really have a strong interest in Musical Theatre and some experience in class or performanc. Students must have approval of the teacher to take this class. Age is not as much of a factor as experience and maturity.
