outdoorFREEIndigenous People Day: The Siwanoy
Pelham Bay Park — Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum · Pelham Bay Park
Pelham Bay Park was once inhabited by small camps of coastal native people loosely referred to as the “Siwanoy” or “Southern People”. The Siwanoy traded along a route similar to the path of the Siwanoy trail. Hike with the Urban Park Rangers along this historic route and learn about the Siwanoy’s history and way of life.
