About this event

No registration. Fall session runs Tuesday, September 22 through November 17, 2026. Get ready for this active and interactive story time! You'll hear stories, sing songs, and play games. These activities help toddlers expand their vocabulary while they begin to understand the link between speech and the written word. You'll have fun with your toddler while they practice their language and gross motor skills.

Babies play with toys designed to encourage their physical and intellectual growth while caregivers socialize with each other. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. For reluctant and emerging readers. Read to Dogs is held in cooperation with Therapy Dogs of Tenafly. Children read one-on-one to a dog/trainer team for a 20 minute session. This program takes place on select Mondays through the school year with a break during the summer months. Why Read to a Dog? Learning to read is often less about intellectual limitation than about overcoming fears. Animals are ideal reading companions because they: Help increase relaxation and lower blood pressure. Listen attentively. Do not laugh, judge, or criticize. Allow children to proceed at their own pace. Are less intimidating than peers. Read to dogs is very popular. We ask that families register no more than 2 times a month.
