About this event

Babies/toddlers who are NOT crawling or walking should only register for Babies and Books. Only crawling/walking toddlers will be admitted into this program. Babies who are NOT walking or crawling babies will NOT be admitted. Thank you for your cooperation. Read books, sing songs, learn fingerplays, and play with other toddlers and caregivers! Geared towards toddlers 18-36 months. Grownups, please read! Space is limited and registration is required. NEW: Registration opens 48HR before the program. There is no waitlist for the program. Please check in at the programming room door when you arrive. The storytime room will open 5 minutes before the program begins. If your child is antsy or crying, you are welcome to take a break and return to the program room when your child has calmed down. Please be courteous to others in the class, participate in the songs and rhymes, and keep conversation to a minimum. There is a ten minute grace period and then no late comers will be permitted.

THIS PROGRAM IS A TAKE AND MAKE CRAFT KIT. There is NOT an in person activity portion to this program. Bring your library card to check out the book and kit to take the book home to read and the kit home to make at home. Again, this is NOT an in person activity to do at the library. Join our low-stakes, self-paced Caregiver and Me Grab & Go Book Club + Craft by stopping in the children's room at library to grab the book & kit beginning October 27th at 4:30 PM. Registration is not required, but will guarantee you a kit to pick up at 4:30 PM!! WHILE SUPPLIES LAST ; LIMITED SUPPLIES. Please note: This is a TAKE home book and craft to do with a child ages 2-8 years old and there is no actual in-person program!! Again, this is not a program at the library. This is a craft and book to take home and do at home. This month's book club pick is Hap-pea Halloween by Keith Baker: "A group of happy peas think and scheme, deciding what they should be for Halloween." Acrylic Concepts and Creations

New to painting or only tried it in school? This welcoming class is designed especially for young artists who want to explore acrylics for the first time. Our teen-friendly approach takes the pressure off, builds confidence, and makes learning to paint genuinely fun. Acrylic paint is the ideal medium for beginners. It’s vibrant, easy to control, quick to dry, and allows plenty of room to experiment. Throughout the course, students learn the fundamentals of painting, including how to choose a subject, plan out a composition, and work comfortably on canvas. They’ll explore how to create shape, depth, and atmosphere using light and shadow, get familiar with different brushes and painting techniques, and practice mixing their own colors to develop a personal palette and style. Each week includes step-by-step demonstrations and supportive guidance from a professional teaching artist. Because the class is kept small, every student gets individual attention and the space to grow at their own pace. No drawing or painting experience is needed—just curiosity and an open mind.
