The VEX IQ Competitive Rookie Team is designed for students who are ready to take their first serious step into competitive robotics. This program is ideal for students with prior robotics experience who want to apply their skills in a real competition environment while maintaining a balanced schedule. Students work as part of a team to design, build, program, test, and improve a VEX IQ competition robot. Throughout the season, they learn the fundamentals of competitive robotics, including engineering design, programming, game strategy, teamwork, and effective communication. Competitive Rookie Team students will: Design, build, and program a VEX IQ competition robot Develop coding, engineering, and problem-solving skills through hands-on challenges Learn competition strategy, robot testing, and performance optimization Gain experience working as part of a collaborative engineering team Develop teamwork, leadership, communication, and presentation skills Participate in 3–4 local VEX IQ tournaments during the season Experience the excitement of real robotics competitions and tournament play This program serves as an important stepping stone toward higher levels of competitive robotics. Students build the technical foundation, confidence, and competition experience needed to advance to State Championship-level and World Championship-level teams in future seasons. The Competitive Rookie Team is perfect for students who enjoy robotics, are eager to challenge themselves, and are ready to experience the excitement of engineering, coding, and competition in a supportive team environment. *Make-ups and cancellations: For semester registrations, only one make-up class per month is allowed with a 24hr cancellation notice. Late cancellation fee: If a client provides less than 24 hours' notice and wishes to schedule a makeup class, 50% of the class fee will be charged and processed through their Sawyer account. *Payment Plan: For semester registrations, payments can be paid in full or split into monthly installments. The monthly installments can be paid only through the HiSawyer registration platform. Please note that a 5% surcharge applies when selecting a monthly installment plan. *One-time Payment: Parents can make a full, upfront payment via Check, Zelle, or Cash, avoiding the 3% processing fee from HiSawyer. Take flight with our exciting Drone Lab! In this hands-on program, students learn to program and pilot real drones using beginner-friendly coding tools. Whether starting with block-based coding or progressing to Python, students explore how drones are used in real-world missions—from search-and-rescue to high-tech delivery. We use CoDrone EDU, a classroom-ready programmable drone equipped with a front range sensor, bottom range sensor, color sensors, and more. Each session challenges students to code flight paths, solve real-world problems, and complete drone missions in —building logic, creativity, and teamwork skills in the classroom and for competitions. No experience required—just a curiosity for tech and a love for flight! *Make-ups and cancelations: For semester registrations only one make-up class per month is allowed with a 24hr cancellation notice. Intro to Lego Robotics

Intro to Robotics is an 12-weeks introductory course designed to make learning fun for kids! This course focuses on robotics, engineering, coding, physics, and math. Throughout this course, children will use LEGO pieces to construct their own robots and learn to control them using simple computer programs.
