The VEX IQ Rising Team is the perfect starting point for students entering the world of competitive robotics. Designed for first-year VEX IQ students, this program focuses on building a strong foundation in engineering, coding, problem-solving, and teamwork while introducing students to the structure and excitement of robotics competitions. Students will learn how to design, build, and program VEX IQ robots while developing the technical and collaborative skills needed for future competitive success. The emphasis is on learning, growth, and skill development in a supportive team environment. Rising Team students will: Learn the fundamentals of robot design, construction, and programming Develop engineering thinking and problem-solving skills Build confidence working as part of a robotics team Learn competition rules, strategy, and game fundamentals Participate in team-based challenges and engineering activities Develop communication, leadership, and collaboration skills Prepare and operate a competition-ready robot Participate in internal robotics challenges and, when appropriate, selected local competition opportunities This program is ideal for students who want to challenge themselves while still having plenty of time to focus on mastering the fundamentals of robotics and engineering. It serves as a strong pathway into our Competitive Rookie Team and higher-level competition programs in future seasons. The Rising Team provides students with the skills, confidence, and experience needed to begin their competitive robotics journey and build a foundation for long-term success in STEM. *Make-ups and cancellations: For semester registrations, only one make-up class per month is allowed with a 24hr cancellation notice. Late cancellation fee: If a client provides less than 24 hours' notice and wishes to schedule a makeup class, 50% of the class fee will be charged and processed through their Sawyer account. *Payment Plan: For semester registrations, payments can be paid in full or split into monthly installments. The monthly installments can be paid only through the HiSawyer registration platform. Please note that a 5% surcharge applies when selecting a monthly installment plan. *One-time Payment: Parents can make a full, upfront payment via Check, Zelle, or Cash, avoiding the 3% processing fee from HiSawyer.
