Ages 4-6 Accord, NY Performance Workshop Session: Mondays, Sept 28- Dec 7 (no class Oct 12) Performance Date: Dec 13 Make-up Week: Dec 14 This holiday season, our Accord dancers will adventure into one of the most colorful corners of The Nutcracker : the Land of the Sweets. Set to Tchaikovsky’s familiar score, dancers will build technique and performance skills as they explore the distinctive rhythms, characters, and movement of the dances Clara encounters on her journey. The workshop runs alongside our Nutcracker season in Brooklyn, giving interested dancers the opportunity to take part in both: building and performing a piece with us in Accord while also joining the larger Nutcracker production in Brooklyn. Ages 4-6: A Journey to the Land of the Sweets Mondays 4:00 - 4:45pm Young dancers will begin with a playful ballet-based warm-up before setting off for the Land of the Sweets. Using props, imaginative movement, and choreography, they’ll explore some of the fanciful treats and characters that fill this part of The Nutcracker . Along the way, dancers will build coordination, musicality, and confidence as they prepare a sweet adventure of their own for the stage.
