Does your teen dream of performing? Acting Level 4 is our most advanced acting class, designed for dedicated performers who want to refine their craft and gain insight into the professional theatre industry. Students will continue developing advanced acting techniques, including: Scene analysis Character development Character specificity Scene partner work Text interpretation Audition preparation In addition to performance training, students will explore the realities of the industry through discussions about auditions, casting, professional expectations, and age-appropriate monologues and scenes that reflect today's NYC theatre landscape. Physical Activity: organized games and team activities teach kids communication, leadership, and resilience in an organic setting Outdoor Time: humans are grounded in nature. Being outside helps regulate and restore kids' nervous systems, reset circadian rhythms, ward off illness and building immunity no matter the weather Unstructured Play: adult free, peer only play gives kids autonomy, choice, and down time. In a natural environment, kids learn effective communication, conflict resolution, and their like and dislikes. It's also essential for building self-esteem Wellness: global, community, and individual wellness is our focus. Kids have an opportunity to give back to the world, understand their impact, and that humanity extends beyond their own self. We take care of ourselves, our neighborhood, and the planet Our After School provides a pick-up from PS 78, PS 384, Gantry View School, and local school/fun bus stops for kids who attend different schools. The afternoon consists of free play, snack time, and activities. Monday & Fridays we have a survey of sports, Tuesdays & Thursdays are fitness class, focussing on movement skills and Wednesdays are our wellness day. Over the course of the semester children will become experts in various art materials and techniques. They will make art that is unique and meaningful to them! Sculpture, printmaking, collage, painting, drawing, and more will be explored over the course of the session. Each child will receive a sketchbook to work in throughout the semester. At the end of the semester children will leave with a portfolio of artwork they are proud of! Children are celebrated with a Art Show for friends and family in December.
