At Artshack, we believe art is an important tool for self-expression, problem-solving, and growth. This season, young artists will explore the world of clay, learning hand-building, the pottery wheel, and various tools. Alongside their clay work, they’ll engage in drawing, drafting, and sketching: essential practices that help children develop their ideas, refine compositions, and expand their creative thinking. Our teaching artists will guide students through a wide range of mixed-media techniques, including printmaking, felting, and sculpture. Each project encourages process-based art-making, where children experiment, make discoveries, and build confidence in their creative abilities. At Artshack, we provide a safe space for children to take creative risks, collaborate with peers, and develop their unique artistic voice, all while deepening their understanding of art as both a practice and a form of personal expression. 𓏊𓏋𓎟𓎺 FALL SEMESTER 𓏊𓏋𓎟𓎺 We follow the public school calendar. In Chess, students will develop long-term strategic thinking and shorter-term tactical motifs. Beginners will start with non-chess games that build foundational skills, while more experienced players will dive into advanced-beginner techniques and strategic thinking from the start. The measure of success for the class will be an encouraged state of curiosity around chess, such that children will take their desire to play from the classroom into their everyday lives.
