The Larchmont Public Library was established in 1926. The 1920’s and 1930’s were a time of change for America. Movies gave people the sight and sound experience but, with the economy in flux, movies were a luxury many couldn’t afford. Instead, people spent time at home listening to big bands on the gramophone, and news and radio plays on the radio. In addition, a new, inexpensive craze was sweeping the nation: jigsaw puzzles and board games, affordable activities that could be enjoyed by all. Stop by the library for Centennial-themed activities for all ages: storytimes, crafts, vintage board games, jigsaw puzzles, and sweet treat tastings.
