Kids' Events in Larchmont

About kids' events in Larchmont

Heading up to Larchmont with a toddler means short car rides and easy walks. Most errands and outings are driveable, and the Metro-North station connects you to Manhattan when you want a bigger day trip, though you will likely drive for most weekday playdates. The local library branch anchors the calendar here, with nearly thirty upcoming events for little ones. Art classes dominate, roughly a dozen of them, alongside sensory play and a weekly storytime. One listing, “Color EVERYWHERE!”, gives you a sense of how hands-on these sessions get. Two active studios keep the schedule full, most of it happening right at the library, which is an easy indoor target for a rainy morning. Outdoors, a couple of playgrounds sit within a short walk of the downtown area, and town parks run seasonal programming, though the library is the consistent hub. Parking near the library is straightforward, and the streets are calm enough for a slow stroll with a stroller. For a parent of a one to four year old, Larchmont works best as a low-key, repeatable routine: library art class, playground stop, quick lunch, home for nap.
