Kids' Events in Fordham

About kids' events in Fordham

A dense, apartment-heavy neighborhood in the central Bronx, Fordham is the kind of place where kids grow up riding the subway before kindergarten. The B, D, and 4 trains all pass through, which makes getting around without a car genuinely easy on weekdays and weekends alike. Fordham Road is one of the longest shopping corridors in the borough, so a stroller errand run is never a production. For outdoor time, Poe Park on the Grand Concourse has a real playground, restrooms, and open green space that NYC Parks has actively programmed with children's events. St. James Park, a short walk away, adds more room to run around with sports fields and lawn space. The Bronx Library Center on East Kingsbridge Road is the largest NYPL branch in the borough and sits right in the neighborhood. It runs storytime and toddler programs for under-3s and preschoolers, and the New York Public Library is one of the studios showing up in the event list below. With 14 upcoming events on our calendar, including programming from Mommy Poppins and NYC Parks, there is a steady rotation of things to do here without leaving the Bronx.
