About kids' events in Farmingdale
On Long Island, Farmingdale sits in that car-first stretch of Nassau and western Suffolk where getting out with a toddler usually means buckling in and driving a few minutes. The local library branch runs free story times and playgroups on weekday mornings, and there are a couple of playgrounds within a short drive, some with shaded benches where you can watch your kid go down the slide. Town recreation departments handle most of the preschool-age programming, so check their seasonal brochures for things like music classes or parent-child gym time. On our calendar right now, Farmingdale has nothing listed. No upcoming events and no active studios have filed here yet, so you will not find a class to book today. That may change, but for now your best bets are the library’s bulletin board and the town’s website for drop-in activities. Getting around is straightforward but requires a car. Parking is usually free and easy at strip-mall plazas and municipal lots. The Long Island Rail Road runs through Farmingdale, but with a small kid, you will likely drive to most destinations, then walk short distances once you arrive.
