About kids' events in Nyack
Across the river from Westchester, Nyack sits in Rockland County with the Mario Cuomo Bridge right there. Getting around is car-first, so plan to drive and hunt for parking, though buses cross the bridge and NJ Transit lines run south if you want to skip the wheel. For a small kid, you can keep it simple. The Nyack Library carries storytime and other free toddler programming through the Ramapo Catskill Library System. A couple of playgrounds and parks are within a short walk from the village center, and a few coffee shops and sidewalks make for an easy loop. On our calendar right now, art classes dominate, with a dozen offerings, followed by movement, shows, and storytimes. Five shows include a Cabaret Performance at Helen Hayes Youth Theatre, which also runs acting classes for little ones. A science event adds something different, and a BIPOC Businesses two day event at The Nyack Library mixes community with hands-on activity. Only one active studio is filed here, so offerings lean on the library and theatre, keeping choices simple. Nyack’s small village center means you can park once, hit a class, grab lunch, then find a playground before heading home.
