Kids' Events in Madison

About kids' events in Madison

A quiet Morris County borough about 25 miles west of Manhattan, Madison draws a lot of young families to its tree-lined streets and genuinely walkable downtown. Memorial Park is a go-to for the playground-and-open-grass combo, and Dodge Field off Greenwood Ave gives you another outdoor spot to burn morning energy. The Madison Public Library on Keep Street runs Baby Time and regular storytimes for the under-5 crowd, so rainy days have a plan. Main Street is compact enough to push a stroller down without stress, and there's a Saturday farmers market running most of the year, which doubles as a surprisingly easy outing with a toddler in tow. For bigger outdoor adventures, the Loantaka Brook Reservation is just a short drive and has flat paved trails that work well with a stroller or balance bike. Getting here without a car is doable on NJ Transit's Morris-Essex Line, though day-to-day life in Madison mostly runs on driving. Weekends here feel low-key and residential, the kind of place where you keep running into the same families at the park.
