About kids' events in Demarest
In Demarest, most days out with a toddler start at the local library, which runs nearly everything on our calendar here. The good news for parents of 1 to 4 year olds is that these are simple, low-pressure wins. Right now there are five upcoming events: three storytime sessions, one movement class, and one music class. A typical listing is “Playtime for Littles (Ages 0 - 4),” which gives you a sense of the casual, drop-in energy. For getting out of the house, you will find a couple of playgrounds within a short walk from most homes, plus the library itself anchors the downtown stretch. You can easily combine a library visit with a stroll or a picnic on the grass. Driving is the main way to get around, and street parking is generally easy near the playgrounds and library. NJ Transit rail connects nearby towns to Manhattan, but day-to-day errands with a small kid will be car-based, so pack the stroller in the trunk before you head out.
