About kids' events in Elmont
On any given weekend, Elmont parents of toddlers have two very different ways to fill a morning. The local library branch runs story times and play groups, and town recreation fields and playgrounds are scattered close enough that a short drive or a slow walk with a stroller gets you to swings, slides, and open grass. Most of the free stuff for little kids comes through those two channels, so checking both calendars is the move. What actually shows up on our calendar here is bigger: arena events at UBS Arena. Right now that means nineteen upcoming listings, mostly Disney On Ice presents Magic in the Stars and similar touring shows. These are not drop-in toddler classes, they are planned outings, the kind where you buy tickets ahead through Ticketmaster, park in a big lot, and walk through crowds. For a three year old who loves characters, it is a very specific thrill. Getting around is pure Long Island car logic. The LIRR runs through nearby stations, but most families drive, and parking is rarely a problem at the arena or the local lots. Plan for car seats and stroller storage, and give yourself extra time on event days.
