About kids' events in Fresh Meadows
A quiet, residential stretch of eastern Queens, Fresh Meadows has the kind of setup that works well when you have a toddler in tow: low-rise brick houses, tree-lined streets, and open lawns built into the neighborhood from the start. The big green anchor nearby is Cunningham Park, a 358-acre space along the neighborhood's eastern edge with playgrounds, wide open fields, and easy room to run around. For something more compact, Fresh Meadows Playground on 67th Avenue is a local spot with water play features and public restrooms, which matters a lot at this stage. There's no subway here, so most families drive or take one of several bus lines that connect to the E and F trains. It makes weekend outings feel a little more planned than spontaneous, but the pace of the neighborhood is genuinely calm. Queens Public Library's Fresh Meadows branch runs regular toddler programming and is part of why this area shows up on our calendar at all. Tiny Footsteps also brings classes to the area. With 14 upcoming events drawn from local parks, two library branches, and a dedicated toddler studio, there's a real mix of options for the under-five crowd across the week.
