About kids' events in Glen Ridge
A short walk from most homes in Glen Ridge gets you to a couple of playgrounds, tree-lined streets, and the Glen Ridge Public Library, which is the main hub for toddler programming here. On our calendar right now, the library is running storytimes and movement classes, plus an art session and an open-ended “Play with Blocks” time. That is all of it, seven events in total, and each one is drop-in friendly for a 1 to 4 year old who needs to burn energy or sit still for a picture book. The library is the single active spot we track in town, so if you live here, that is your go-to for free or low-cost mornings out. Getting around is easy on foot if you stay near the center, but most of the region is car-first, so driving to nearby towns for classes is normal. Street parking is rarely a fight, and the downtown main streets are short. If you are coming from outside, NJ Transit rail is an option, but you will likely drive. A rainy morning at the library’s block corner is a solid plan.
