Tuckahoe sits in southern Westchester, close enough to the city that Metro-North trains and Bee-Line buses get you around, but most errands and outings happen by car. Parking near the village center is usually easy, and a couple of playgrounds and the local library branch are within a short walk if you want to stay close. Right now, our calendar for Tuckahoe has 13 events, and they all run through the Tuckahoe Public Library. Most are art classes, which work well for toddlers who like to paint, glue, and make messes somewhere other than your kitchen. There are also a couple of yoga sessions, one movement class, a storytime, a theater offering, and a couple of general drop-in programs. The library is the main hub here for little-kid activities, so it is the place to check first when you need something to do on a rainy morning. Keep in mind that most library programs are free, but they tend to fill up fast. Showing up a few minutes early helps. Tuckahoe is small, so you will likely bump into the same families at storytime and the playground, which is nice when your kid is just learning to share.
