Kids' Events in Midland Beach

About kids' events in Midland Beach

A quiet, mostly owner-occupied stretch of Staten Island's East Shore, Midland Beach is the kind of place where kids can genuinely grow up outdoors. The Franklin D. Roosevelt Boardwalk runs right through the neighborhood, connecting to a real sand beach where toddlers can splash and dig year-round. Midland Beach Playground, sitting steps from that boardwalk, has a dedicated toddler play area, water sprinklers, restrooms, and plenty of benches for parents. The neighborhood is a grid of bungalows and modest homes, low-key on weekdays, and in summer the beach fills up with local families for concerts and events. Most people get around by car, and the Staten Island Railway stops at Grant City and Jefferson Avenue a short distance away if you prefer not to drive. There's no library branch inside the neighborhood itself, but the New Dorp branch on New Dorp Lane is close by and runs regular storytime and kids' programming. For structured activity, Generation Judo and NYC Parks both run events here, making this calendar worth checking when you want something to do on top of a beach day.
