About kids' events in Tottenville
At the very southern tip of Staten Island, Tottenville is a quiet, residential corner of the city where most families own their homes and kids genuinely have room to move. The pace here is slow compared to the rest of NYC, streets are tree-lined, and the water is never far away. For outdoor time with a toddler, Wolfe's Pond Park is the standout. It sits along Raritan Bay and has a dedicated playground with slides and swings scaled for little ones, plus beach access, picnic areas, and clean restrooms. In summer, the free Tottenville Pool nearby adds a kiddie pool and play area to the mix. The New York Public Library branch on Amboy Road is a Carnegie-built landmark that runs regular Little Movers Storytime sessions aimed specifically at new walkers and toddlers, followed by free playtime in the upstairs children's room. No registration required. Getting here takes commitment. Tottenville is the last stop on the Staten Island Railway, which connects to the St. George Ferry terminal, so expect 45-plus minutes from Manhattan. Most local families drive, and parking is generally easy to find. Weekends here feel genuinely unhurried, which is part of the draw once you arrive.
