About kids' events in Spring Valley
Getting out of the house in Spring Valley with a toddler usually starts with the library. Finkelstein Memorial Library carries most of the free programming here, and that is where you will find nearly everything on our calendar. Right now there are 11 events listed, and most of them are storytimes, including a Baby Lap Time for pre-walkers, plus a few music and art sessions and one language class. It is a solid mix for a rainy morning or a low-key afternoon, and you will likely see the same families week to week. For outdoor time, a couple of playgrounds are within a short walk from many residential blocks, and bigger parks are a short drive away. Rockland County is car-first, so you will drive to most destinations, and parking is generally easy. If you do not drive, NJ Transit’s Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines run south into Hoboken, and buses cross the Mario Cuomo Bridge, but plan for longer trips. Keep your expectations local: the library is the anchor, and the calendar reflects that reality. You can make a morning out of storytime, then head to a nearby playground when the weather cooperates.
