About kids' events in Williamsburg
Brooklyn's Williamsburg has a lot going on for the under-five set. The streets are flat and the L train runs straight to Manhattan, so getting around with a stroller is genuinely manageable most days. Outdoors, McCarren Park is the anchor: 35 acres straddling Williamsburg and Greenpoint, with a playground that has dedicated toddler sections, multiple swing sets including baby swings, a splash pad for summer, and a Saturday greenmarket if you want to make a morning of it. Down by the water, Domino Park adds a waterfront playground built around the old Domino Sugar Factory, with views across the East River to Manhattan. When the weather turns, The Canopy NYC is designed specifically for babies and toddlers, with open play and movement classes. The Williamsburgh branch of Brooklyn Public Library runs free storytimes and drop-in programs for young kids too. With 127 events currently on the calendar across a dozen active studios, including music at The Rock and Roll Playhouse and arts programming at Goose Grease House for the Arts, there's usually something on any given weekend morning. Williamsburg draws a lot of young families, and it shows.
