One of NYC's biggest parks sits right here in the northwest Bronx, and it genuinely changes the texture of daily life with a small kid. Van Cortlandt Park covers over 1,100 acres of forest, meadows, and open fields, which means a two-year-old can run in a straight line for a very long time without hitting a fence.
