About kids' events in Hastings-on-Hudson
In Hastings-on-Hudson, hills meet the river, and getting out with a small kid usually starts with a short stroll to a neighborhood playground. The local library branch belongs to the Westchester Library System, so toddler story times and drop-in playgroups are standard. A main street with a coffee shop and a small market gives you a loop: snack, swing, home for nap. Weekday mornings are quiet, and you’ll see other parents pushing strollers up the slopes. Getting around means driving for most errands, with Metro-North for trips into Manhattan and the Bee-Line bus for local hops. Parking near the river or the playgrounds is rarely a fight on weekdays, which matters when you’re hauling a diaper bag and a 3 year old. Our calendar here is empty right now, and no active studios have filed in Hastings yet. That’s the reality, not a problem. County and town park departments run free outdoor programming across Westchester, so check community bulletin boards and the library’s event flyers for toddlers. The walking is real, the river is right there, and your regular playground crew is probably already forming.
