About kids' events in Massapequa
If you live in Massapequa with a toddler, your days probably start with a decision: driveway, stroller, or the Long Island Rail Road platform. The local library branch and town recreation department are the main anchors for free story times and drop-in playgroups, and they tend to fill up fast, so arriving a few minutes early matters. Most families drive to a couple of playgrounds within a short drive, and parking is rarely a problem at the smaller neighborhood parks, though the popular ones get busy right after school drop-off. Right now, our calendar has nothing listed in Massapequa, and no active studios have filed classes here yet. That means you will likely find your programming through the library's monthly flyer or the town's seasonal brochure rather than through us for the moment. What does exist are the classic Long Island rhythms: morning errands by car, a walk to the local bagel shop if you are near the main strip, and train access to Penn Station or Grand Central for a day trip into the city. For now, Massapequa rewards the parent who checks the library board each week.
