About kids' events in Rego Park
A mid-rise Queens neighborhood of co-ops, apartment towers, and tree-lined side streets, Rego Park is the kind of place where families put down actual roots. Weekday mornings you'll see strollers on Yellowstone Boulevard, and the neighborhood has a handful of small playgrounds within easy walking distance, including Yellowstone Municipal Park, a grass-and-play-equipment spot that local parents have been using for decades. Flushing Meadows Corona Park, one of the biggest green spaces in the city, is reachable in about 15 minutes. The Queens Public Library branch on 63rd Drive is currently closed for a major reconstruction, so that errand is on hold until 2028, but nearby Forest Hills and Elmhurst branches cover the gap in the meantime. The M and R trains stop right at 63rd Drive-Rego Park, so getting downtown or into Manhattan with a toddler in tow is genuinely straightforward. The neighborhood runs at a lower-key pace than the areas just to the north, which helps on days when you need a calm walk more than an adventure. Studios running events here include Cooking With Corey and Spartak Sports Club, so the calendar covers both the kitchen-curious toddler and the kid who wants to tumble around.
