Kids' Events in Rosedale

About kids' events in Rosedale

At the far southeastern edge of Queens, Rosedale feels more like a suburb than a city neighborhood. Detached brick houses, front lawns, driveways, backyard space: it is the kind of block where kids actually have room to run. That physical breathing room is one of the real draws for families here. Brookville Park anchors the neighborhood, a 90-acre green space with a playground, walking paths, ponds with ducks, and plenty of open grass for toddlers who just need to move. For a rainy-day option or a storytime, the Queens Public Library Rosedale branch on 243rd Street is a reliable stop, and the nearby Laurelton branch also runs regular programming for little ones. Getting around takes some planning. There is no subway here. The LIRR connects to Penn Station, and several buses run through the area, but most families with small kids end up driving to errands and activities. On a weekend morning the blocks are genuinely quiet, which, depending on your kid's nap schedule, can be a very good thing. All 17 upcoming events listed here draw from both library branches serving this corner of Queens.
