About kids' events in Prospect Heights
Prospect Heights sits at the northern edge of Prospect Park, and that proximity shapes daily life with a small kid more than anything else. The park is the backyard, and Underhill Playground, the neighborhood's beloved "Toy Park" on Underhill Avenue, is the go-to spot for toddlers: locals leave behind tricycles, ride-on cars, and scooters that any kid can use. A short walk south gets you into the park itself, with Harmony Playground's toddler jungle gym, sprinklers, and xylophones as a reliable warm-weather destination. On rainy days, the Brooklyn Public Library's Central Library at Grand Army Plaza has a dedicated storytime room with stroller parking. The 2 and 3 trains run directly through the neighborhood at Bergen Street and Grand Army Plaza, so getting anywhere without a car is genuinely easy. Vanderbilt Avenue has coffee shops and restaurants that handle strollers without fuss, and the Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanic Garden are minutes away on foot. For structured classes, Little Makers Studio is rooted right in the neighborhood, and Treasure Trunk Theatre brings drop-in music and art sessions for babies and toddlers to Atlantic Avenue. With 82 events currently on the calendar, there's real activity to anchor a weekday routine.
