Kids' Events in Richmond Hill

About kids' events in Richmond Hill

A quiet, low-rise Queens neighborhood of tree-lined blocks and old Victorian frame houses, Richmond Hill has the kind of residential calm that makes getting outside with a toddler genuinely easy. The area sits right on the southern edge of Forest Park, and Jackson Pond Playground sits exactly at that border on Myrtle Avenue. It has separate toddler and big-kid structures, baby swings, a sprinkler area, benches, and public bathrooms. On a weekend morning you can push a stroller from the playground straight onto Forest Park's wide paths through the oak forest. The Queens Public Library branch on Hillside Avenue has its own children's entrance and runs regular toddler storytimes, and Kew Kids Forest School also runs programming here. The J and A trains both stop in the neighborhood, so getting here without a car is straightforward, and the blocks themselves are calm enough that a stroller walk between errands is realistic. Liberty Avenue adds a lively commercial strip with food from Guyanese, Punjabi, and Caribbean kitchens, which makes lingering after a park trip pretty easy to justify.
