About kids' events in Suffern
Getting out with a small kid in Suffern means leaning on the village center and the local library. You can walk to a couple of playgrounds from most spots, and the Suffern Free Library is the anchor for toddler time. Right now our calendar there shows five storytimes, plus drop in coloring and a music session, all run by the Suffern Free Library. That is the full slate, and it is a good one for a rainy morning or a post-nap reset. The library is the place to know first. Suffern sits in Rockland County, west of the Hudson. You will drive almost everywhere, and parking is rarely a fight in the village lots. If you come from Westchester, the Mario Cuomo Bridge puts you here in about twenty minutes. NJ Transit trains run south to Hoboken, but with a one year old, the car is the tool. Buses also cross the bridge if you need them. The town recreation department and the library system handle most free programming, so check the library calendar even beyond what is listed here. Suffern works best as a small, self contained errand loop with the library as your stop.
